It is no longer news that Manchester United are interested in signing Inter Milan’s winger Ivan Persic but the San Siro giants have refused to let their guards down in their resolve to hold on to the player until his valuation is met.
While there are reports that the Red Devils have come off the transfer window this summer, Jose Mourinho still wants a player signed before the close of the window, according to reports.
Mourinho had apprised Ed Wood that he needed to sign four players and having added Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic to his otherwise strong squad, the Portuguese manager wants a winger and Perisic seem to have won his admiration.
United had made two offers for the star, with the latest being a £39million bid but the Seria A side are yet playing hardball as it is given that they want nothing short of £48million for the Croatian attacker.
A twist in the transfer saga surfaced that Inter Milan would only listen to offers for the player if Anthony Martial is included in a swap deal but United do not want to lose any of their squad member.
There were also claims that Perisic has been offered a new deal at Inter Milan. However, according to the Daily Mirror, United have stepped up their chase of the player and a deal could be on the offing.
The report claims that the agent of Perisic, Fali Ramadani has held talks with the executive vice-chairman of Man United Ed-Woodward in a bid to conclude the deal. We also understand that Ramadani has returned to Italy where he’ll try to conclude on the player’s future.
Chelsea are also keen on signing the star but United are in pole position to land him.
