Liverpool are on the verge of joining the League of Clubs that have opened their transfer market activities with the signing of an attacker.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for Egyptian and Roma forward Mohamed Salah but latest report according to ESPN sources, Salah will undergo medical later today ahead of a £39million transfer.
Until now, Andy Carrol holds the record for the most expensive Liverpool player but Salah’ deal is expected to deep the warchest of the Mugsmashers by £39m which will make him usurp Carrol as the most expensive Liverpool buy ever.
Liverpool’s interest in the player dates back to the January transfer window of 2014 but they failed to sign him as he favored a move to Chelsea.. He is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal and become a Liverpool player.
Salah had an unsuccessful spell with Chelsea between 2013- 2015. He was sent on loan to Fiorentina and subsequently Roma where he stayed put on a permanent deal. He will complete an attacking trio with Saido Mane and Coutinho.
Liverpool ended last season in the first quartet of the Premier League, they will be involved in the Champions League playoffs and hopefully return the competition. Klopp must bolster other areas of his team for them to be more competitive.
Salah scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists in the Seria A for Roma last term – his stats speaks volume as he is expected to be a handful for the defenders of the EPL.
Salah is expected to receive£90k-a-week in wages at Anfield.
