Real Madrid have accepted Arsenal’s £63m bid for out-of-favour attacking midfielder James Rodriguez, this is according to reports.
Arsenal are currently in the market for a player that can player from the flank and having failed in their bid to sign Barcelona’s Denis Suarez, they have turned attention to Colombian midfielder.
Rodriguez arrived Real Madrid in the summer of 2014 after a barnstorming outing at the World Cup. However, his stock reduced when Zinedine Zidane was appointed. The aforementioned former boss of Madrid preferred other players over him.
The 27-year-old star was shipped out to Bayern Munich on a two year loan spell. However, he has been reduced to a bit-part role and he wants out of the club.
According to the Mirror who cited a report from Don Balon, Arsenal have beaten Liverpool to the signing of the player. This comes after Madrid accepted a £63m bid from the Gunners.
The move for the Colombian has raised questions over the future of Mesut Ozil, who has failed to justify his price tag this season.
