Lyon attacker and playmaker Nabil Fekir has reportedly agreed to join Chelsea, claims surprising reports.
The 24-year-old was part of a transfer tussle between European giants Lyon and Liverpool this summer.
The Frenchman was hugely touted to join the Merseysiders this summer after successfully posing for pictures in a red shirt.
Plugs on his transfer were however pulled due to a reoccurring injury, one that angered Lyon.
Liverpool however made efforts to resurrect negotiations for his transfer, after the player suggested he wants to leave the French outfit.
It is understood the Reds submitted a reduced bid for the star, forcing Lyon to close every channel of negotiations for the player from Liverpool.
But news from CaughtOffside say the player has agreed to join Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Chelsea were close to snapping up the player on deadline day but were unable to meet Lyon’s valuation for the attacker.
Despite agreeing to join the Blues, Fekir’s 60 million pounds asking fee could not be shelled out by the English club.
Chelsea ended their summer transfer business without a replacement for flop Alvaro Morata.
Fekir would fit seamlessly into Sarri’s plan. But for now, according to Lyon’s chief Bruno Gresio, “for now he is a Lyon player.”
