£50m bid tabled: Chelsea on the brink of signing 12-goal striker

Chelsea are prepared to table a £50m bid for Uruguay and Paris Saint Germain striker Edison Cavani, this is according to reports.

Sarri is unhappy with the show-off of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud and he is ready to ditch the former for a more assured front-man.

Morata scored twice as Chelsea knocked out Nottingham Forest from the FA Cup but his poor in the league leaves so much to be desired.

The Italian manager has preferred playing Eden Hazard as his attacker this season. Hazard has been in blistering form, the Blues need a striker that will complement his efforts and they have fixed their sight on signing Cavani.

Morata has been linked with a move to AC Milan and Sevilla on a loan spell, with several reports claiming Sarri will allow the Spaniard leave this month.

Meanwhile, Cavani has scored 12 goals already this season and that is already a huge lure for the Blue, according to the Daily Express.

Nicolo Barella is another player heavily linked with a move to Chelsea
