Manchester United target and Sevilla centre-back Clement Lenglet has agreed a deal with La liga Champions Barcelona, according to report.
Lenglet joined Sevilla in the January of 2017 and he has proven his mettle beyond any doubt that he is a quality centre-back. The 22-year-old centre-back has featured in 34 La Liga games for Sevilla this term but his will be lacing his boots at the Camp Nou next season.
Lenglet was able to keep Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez silent when Sevilla knocked out Man United from the Champions League and Mouinho was impressed with the display of the star.
According to the Express, United were firmly interested in the services of the player and even sent a scout to watch him. Nonetheless, they have to look elsewhere if they must fortify their otherwise strong defense as Barcelona have already stolen a match on them on the player’s signature.
The agent of Lenglet have held talks with Barcelona and a 5-year deal has been already agreed by the party involved even though the player will hardly start for the Camp Nou outfit.
Barcelona are uncertain of the future of Samuel Umtiti, who is heavily linked with a move to Man United – the signing of Lenglet has revived speculation that the La Liga Champions may have started to prepare for life of the French defender.
Jose Mourinho is said to be a huge fan of Umtiti and even though United have a plethora of centre-back, they would break the bank to sign the powerful defender.
Umtiti is yet to sign a new deal with Barcelona and he doesn’t have a bogus release clause yet.
Lenglet is valued at 20,00 Mill. € according to tranfermarkt.
