Manchester United kick-off their 2017/18 Premier League campaign to a flying start and Jose Mourinho will be looking to maintain same momentum in United’s next game.
While, the Red Devils are basking in the ambiance of an impressive start in the League, they are yet to come-off the transfer window and latest reports have indicated they are willing to pay out the release clause of Barcelona versatile winger Sergi Roberto.
Roberto was played in an unfamiliar wing back position last season and while he’s nursing the desire to fight for a place in the midfield of the Catalan Club, the signing of Paulinho has thwarted that opportunity. He may be a bit-part player this season and the Spaniard is considering a move.
Roberto has a release clause £36.5m, which has been considered a paltry fee given the nature of the transfer window, claims Don Balon. And Manchester United are willing to happy trigger the clause and add him to their plethora of their otherwise strong squad.
The report claims Roberto wants to continue to ply his trade with Barcelona but if they sign Philippe Coutinho, he is likely to consider a move away from the club, leaving Manchester United as his most probable next footballing destination.
Manchester United have signed on three players in this transfer window, the Red Devils squad is just short of a World class winger to make them more formidable. Roberto may not be a first team player for United.
