Nicolas Pepe has broken silence on reports linking him with a move to Arsenal, per reports.
The Gunners have had an impressive spell so far under Unai Emery but the Spanish tactician is not okay with the size of his squad.
Arsenal tried to sign French and Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele in the summer but despite making a bogus offer for him at the close of the transfer window, the deal for him fell through.
Pepe has seen his stock increase greatly over last season and this, and he has been tipped exit Lille sooner. This term, he has scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 13 games.
He has attracted interest from Borrussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Arsenal. However, the Gunners are said to be one of the favourites for his signature because of the lure to play in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old winger was quizzed about the possible move to any of the aforementioned club and he responded,
“A preference between Dortmund, Bayern or Arsenal?
“They’re all big clubs, I was not aware of these rumours, although it’s nice.”
He added: “Leave Lille at the end of the season? We do not even know what I’ll be doing tomorrow!”
Arsenal do not have an immediate need for a winger this season. The Gunners are a high scoring side but they have conceded goals with reckless abandon.
Pepe is valued at £44m per reports.
