Manchester City are already leading in the transfer window in terms of the number of players signed. Having failed to win any trophy this season, Guardiola is pragmatic in the transfer window than any other coach in the Premier League.
If the reports making the rounds are anything to go by, then Man City are on the cusp of the signing arguably the best right back in the Premier League Kyle Walker in a deal believed to be about £40m in fee and add ons.
The Citizens will be without Pablo Zabaleta next season after the player called it quit with the Etihad outfit at the end of last season. Walker is expected to be a direct replacement for the out-gone Argentine right back.
Walker remains the right back to beat in the Premier League and has been keenly admired by Pep Guardiola. The report claims that the Citizens will double the player’s wage. He currently earns £50k-a-week with the Lily Whites.
Man City are not the only club in the chase of the player. A report claims Chelsea and Man United have keen interest in him but Walker has opted to complete a Man City deal so he’ll be close to family as they still live in Sheffield.
Talks between Tottenham and City have been concluded over a deal for the player and the Citizens have agreed to meet the asking price of the speedy right back.
