Arsenal have seen bid for target Cengiz Ünder rejected by AS Roma.
Ünder has been impressive for the Italian outfit and the Gunners were reportedly said to be keen on signing him.
Arsenal is understood to have submitted a 40 million pounds bid for Ünder. While that is outrageously high price for Ünder, Arsenal it is understood forked out the amount, only to get a “no” from the Italian outfit.
Arsenal are not the only club keen to sign Ünder. City rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich are both said to be stepping up interests in the star.
Journalist and football writer Eren Sarigul says all trio have been credited with interest and have intimated with the player’s agent.
Bayern Munich eye him as a replacement for veteran attacker Arjen Robben.
Manchester United and City entered the race for Ünder services according to Sarigul with both outfits looking to beef up their squad at centre and on the flanks.
Roma is said to allow him leave the outfit if they get 50 million euros for Ünder. But it is unlikely even if a bid of that amount is submitted, Ünder would leave the club this January. Roma is prepared to allow him go at the end of the season, should they get more bids for the Turkey international.
