4-year deal agreed: Chelsea to announce deal for versatile defender

Versatile Spanish defender Ceaser Azpilicueta has agreed to sign a four year deal with Chelsea, this is according to reports.\

The ever reliable defender, who joined Chelsea from Marseille in the summer of 2012 is set to put pen to paper on a four year deal with the Blues.

The defender is running down his current contract with Chelsea but he will sign a deal that will see him wage increase from £120k-per-week to £150k-per-week, to reward him for his loyalty and commitment to the club.

Since joining Chelsea, the Spanish footballer has been utilised across all the positions in the defence. However, Sarri has favoured him to play as the right back of the club.

He is on the verge of getting 300 appearances for the Blues and he has won five trophies in the colours of Chelsea, including the Premier and Europa League titles.

You would recall that N’golo Kante agreed to sign a  deal with Chelsea. If Azpilicueta signs, he would be one of the several players being rewarded with a new deal.

Hazard contracts will expire in 2020 but he is expected to follow Kante and possibly Azpilicueta to signing a new deal.
