Chelsea take on Southampton in the Premier League later today where they will be hoping to consolidate on their new found form.
The Blues surprisingly lost at Stamford Bridge to Leicester City but they have won two games on the bounce since then, and are currently two points ahead of Arsenal in fifth position ahead of today’s game.
For Sarri, he has ruled out the possibility of winning the Premier League but Champions League qualification appear to be his major project for this season. Rightly so, the Blues are on course to cement a place in the first quartet of the table.
Meanwhile, the Saints have lost their last two games and any result other than a win for them today may see them slip to the relegation zone of the table. Ralph Hasenhüttl has improved the Saints and avoiding relegation is his major task.
Olivier Giroud picked up an injury during the Blues game against Crystal Palace. He was found limping away on crutches after the game.
Cesc Fabregas currently has a neck and there is no telling if he’d be back for today’s game.
Pedro is has a hamstring injury and Sarri will be hoping that Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi return on time as the injury list of his squad grows.
