4-2-3-1: Ozil and Suarez benched, Lichtsteiner starts in Arsenal probable line-up vs City

Arsenal face their toughest fixture so far this year as they take on Manchester City in the Premier League at the Etihad. They Gunners will be looking to build on their narrow win over Cardiff last weekend.

Chelsea’s win over Huddersfield on Saturday means they are now in fourth place on the table while Arsenal returned to fifth position. Any result other than a win for the Gunners today may see them drop to sixth place if Man United win their game against Leicester City.

City were stunned by Newcastle United in the midweek fixtures. The Citizens succumbed to a 2-1 defeat and slipped five points adrift Liverpool. They have to win today’s game to keep their title hope alive.

Arsenal have not won away in the Premier League since November but they need magic today.

Arsenal Injuries

Arsenal have a chunk of their players injured but they have added a midfielder to their squad.

Laurent Koscielny picked up a facial injury against Manchester United but he has returned to full training and he’s contention for this one.

Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding are ruled out of the season with injuries while  Sokratis Papastathopoulos will not be back until the end of the month because of an ankle injury.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan broke his metatarsal but he is already nearing full fitness.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles picked up a knee injury and he is unlikely to play today’s game.

Danny Welbeck will not be back until next season.
