4-2-3-1: Lichtsteiner and Torreira starts in Arsenal probable line-up vs Man City

Today signals the beginning of a new era following the unprecedented exit of Arsene Wenger and so much is expected of the new Gunners boss.

This will be the first competitive game of Unai Emery but he will be playing against a familiar foe Pep Guardiola, who dominated the La Liga when Emery was also on the reins of a club in Spain.

The Gunners have strengthen the weak areas of their squad but they look like they are still short of options at the back following the sale of Calum Chambers and the injury lay-off of Laurent Koscielny.

Some of the Arsenal players that participated in the latter stages of the World Cup resumed for the pre-season training late but all the players are reportedly fit and we expect to see some of the new faces in the line-up of today.

Arsenal injuries

Aaron Ramsey to back after sustaining a knock but there is no telling if he’d take part in this game. Meanwhile Sead Kolasinac is expected to be out of action for the remainder of this month, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles expected to be called up to play in his stead today.

Koscielny continues to be on the sideline.
