Chelsea are on the brink of signing Gonzalo Higuain and Lenadro Paredes but how would the aforementioned super stars fit into the squad of Maurizio Sarri?
The Blues have sold Cesc Fabregas to AS Monaco and they are on the verge of reaching an agreement for the transfer of Alvaro Morata. Consequently, they have actively remained in the transfer window to replace their stars.
Sarri’s squad was bolstered in the summer transfer window but he has been dismayed at his striker for failing to score goals. The Italian boss has been forced to use Eden Hazard in the unfamiliar false nine position.
Higuain was a key figure for Napoli in the 2015/16 season when Sarri was in charge at the club. The Italian boss wants a reunion with his former striker and it appears that one is in the offing for the pair.
The Argentinean is currently on a loan spell with AC Milan from Juventus but the Old Lady have agreed to canceled to deal so that he would seal a dream Chelsea move.
It is widely claimed that he would join Chelsea on a six months loan spell but the Blues will have the option of making the deal permanent at the end of the season.
When the deal is completed, and flanked by Hazard and Willian/Pedro, Higuain will no doubt lead the frontline of Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Paredes will join in the stead of Fabregas who was sparingly used. The biggest casualty in the midfield set up would likely be Kovacic, whose impact has been minimal.
We take a swipe at Chelsea’s line-up with Higuain and Paredes.
