€40m star agrees personal terms to join Arsenal – announcement imminent

For most parts of last season Arsenal played livelessly and paid dearly for their defensive mistakes, conceding no fewer than 51 goals, an outcome that forced Arsene Wenger out of the club, even though it had been long called for, by fans.

Emery’s appointment may have succeeded in pointing out the faults in their defensive line following the acquisition of veteran defender Stephan Lichtsteiner and the reported signing of Dortmund centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

It is believed that Emery will attempt to make one more defensive signing and a top prospect who has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates is Turkish and Frieburg star Caglar Soyuncu.

The 22-year-old has verbally revealed through a closed source, that he wants to join the English outfit and what is left is for both clubs is to agree on a fee that will trigger his release, reports Calcio insider.

Currently rated at £35 million(€40m) via the Sun, there are newly found reports that could quash the Gunners hope of landing the defender.

According to the Telegraph, Emery was given £50 million to spend on transfer prospects and the London Evening Standard has disclosed just recently, that Emery will on sign players like Torreira (DM), Leno (GK) and Papastathopoulos (CB).

If they achieve success over the three deals, the Gunners will never be able to agree a fee for the Frieburg sensation with their balance.
