Liverpool could lose Emre Can to Juventus following reports that the influential midfielder has agreed to join the Italian champions this summer.
The German international played a key role for the Reds last season as they secured a top four finish in the Premier League and returned to the Champions League. But there have been a lot of speculations as to where his future lies, with just a year left on his current contract at Anfield.
And according to reports in Italy, Juventus are keen to add the midfield maestro to their team, with Italian outlet Tuttosport reporting that the player has agreed personal terms with Juventus.
Can joined Liverpool from Bayern Leverkusen three years ago in a £9.75 million deal and he has grown to become a key member of the Reds squad, making 26 Premier League starts for them last season. And with Jurgen Klopp wanting to challenge for the Premier League title and go far in the Champions League next season, selling the midfielder might not be an option for him.
However, Juventus are prepared to test Liverpool’s resolve by submitting a bid of around £31.5m for the midfielder this summer.
The 23-year-old is in talks with Liverpool over a new deal but no agreement has been reached yet. The Anfield hierarchy are willing to offer him a contract with a pay rise but Can reportedly want to join Max Allegri’s side this summer.
However, Juventus may still have to improve on their bid of £31.5m as Can is believed to worth more than that in the transfer market.
