Jose Mourinho is expected to continue the rebuilding of Manchester United’s team that he started last summer and the Portuguese tactician seem to have started from the defense with the deal for Victor Lindolf before he takes it to the other areas of his squad.
Man United new signing Victor Lindolf is billed to have his medical with the Red Devils later today after a deal was agreed for the player, as we earlier reported. Benfica accepted £30.7m Man United offer for the centre-back and he will join on a long term deal.
The Swede played against Norway in their World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday night and he is expected to fly to Manchester ahead of his medical scheduled for Wednesday. An announcement for the deal is expected to be made before the weekend.
There is the presence of numbers for United in terms of central defenders but those defenders are either injury prone or short of the quality wanted by Jose Mourinho. Lindolf is expected to partner Eric Bailly at the heart of defense for the Red Devils.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a barnstorming season in the Liga NOS with Benfica last term – he made 32 League appearances. He is strong in the air and his rare passing ability makes him a skillful defender, which is an appealing attribute for the star player.
