Man United have offered Arsenal target Juan Mata a three year deal to keep him at the club for long term, this is according to reports.
Mata has entered the final year of his contract with United but even though they have an option to extend his deal further by a year, his future has continued to generate widespread speculation.
On the appointment of Jose Mourinho as the manager of United in 2016, Mata played on the fringes but this term, the Spaniard has emerged as one of the best players for United. He has featured in 10 League games for the Red Devils, with Mourinho preferring him over the likes of Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini.
Arsenal have been huge admirers of the player since his days at Chelsea. The player may have moved on but Arsenal apparently have not. Unai Emery has led Arsenal to an impressive start in the League but his squad looks thin at the moment.
Danny Welbeck is currently sidelined with an ankle injury while Aaron Ramsey is on the verge of exiting the North London club, leaving Arsenal with no choice that to reinforce their squad.
Alas, they have to look elsewhere. According to the Daily Star, United have offered a three year deal to the player, this is in a bid to ward off interest in him or get a resale value for him.
