The most forbearing fans in this summer transfer window will have to be Chelsea’s – the Club have seen loads of deal completed for the outward transfer of players but no player has been signed into the Club barring Willy Cabellero on a free transfer. Nonetheless, there seem to be light at the tunnel of reports making the rounds is anything to go by.
Antonio Rudiger has arrived London to have a medical with Premier League reigning Champions Chelsea, with an agreement between Roma and Chelsea already reached.
Rudiger has been on the radar of Chelsea since last summer but sustained an injury in the build up to the European Championship of France last year which stalled the move at that time. The Blues rekindled their interest in the centre-back and it appears that he will lace his boots for them in the upcoming season.
An agreement to the tune of £29m plus £5m in add-ons has been agreed upon by the Italian and English giants. We have been made to understand that this deal will span five-years and he will rake £77k-a-week into his account in wages.
According Sky Italia claims the 24-year-old is in London and he will have the statutory fitness test and some physical checks before he will be officially become a Chelsea player, although we cannot ascertain the veracity of their reportage.
Rudiger was reticent when he was quizzed about his future after Germany’s victory in the Confederations Cup final last Sunday.
“It’s not about the future now…it’s now about enjoyment,” he said.
“I need to enjoy this moment, and I’m enjoying it to the fullest. The rest we will see in the coming weeks.”
Antonio Conte is currently without quality options in his defense having allowed John Terry and Nathan Ake departed the Club.
