£29m-rated Man United target ‘hints’ Chelsea’s deal is close

While Chelsea confirmed the departures of Nathan Ake to Bournemouth and legendary centre-back John Terry, who joined Championship side Aston Villa earlier today, they are looking for options to Gary Cahill, Ceaser Azpilicueta and David Luis.

German centre-back Antonio Rudiger has been closely followed by the Blues as they want him at Stamford Bridge. It appears that the League Champions might have gotten a breakthrough after the player hinted on a deal via his Instagram activity, reports the Express.

Chelsea are currently without quality options for the centre-back position and Rudiger has been placed as a priority target to fill that void. There were reports last week that player had agreed personal terms to switch to Chelsea but that report has not come to fruition yet.

Rudiger was part of Germany’s team that conquered the Confederations Cup in Russia and in the spirit of celebration, his friend took to Instagram and insinuated that the player will be joining Chelsea – that picture was liked (endorsed as some people have said) by the tough-tackling centre-back.

However, Chelsea may need to up their chase for him as he is closely been followed by the Manchester Clubs. Jose Mourinho has signed Victor Lindelof, who plays as a centre-back. unless the Portuguese tactician wants to overhaul his defense, he may not be signing another CB.

Rudiger is valued at £29m.
