Gonzalo Higuain’s arrival to Stamford Bridge will easily breathe life into a Chelsea side that have failed to find the back of the net on many occasions this better half of the season.
However, why stick to just one man who checks well as qualified as a centre-forward, when you can have two and play either or both on the pitch.
As tantalising as this sound, Chelsea are considering looking into that end.
Reports milling out of Tuttomercatoweb say Chelsea could follow up on signing fellow Argentina international Mauro Icardi in the summer.
Icardi has been a long time target for Chelsea, and Blues still fancy the prospect of luring him out of Inter Milan.
The 25-year-old has yet to extend his stay at the Milan club after talks over his salary went south.
Earlier this month, wife and agent Wanda Nara revealed that talk between Inter and the player over extending his stay at the San Siro is a long way off. Icardi wants a salary of north of £6m pounds, but Inter have come up way short, finding it hard to meet the valuation.
“Icardi’s renewal with Inter is a very long way off as things stand today,” Nara said.
“There are very important clubs that are interested in signing Mauro,” said Nara, and that includes interests from England.
