Manchester United have accepted a £14m bid from Ajax for the transfer of Dutch versatile defender Daley Blind, according to report by the Mirror.
Blind was a key figure for the Red Devils when he joined from the same club in the summer of 2014 under the management of Louis Van Gaal. Under Jose Mourinho, he has only flattered to deceive, leaving him as a bit-part player since 2016.
Blind can play as a holding midfielder, a centre-back and a left-full back, but he was under the shadows of Ashley Young, Nemanja Matic and Eric Bailly last term, where he managed only seven cameos in the Premier league.
He will sign a four-year contract with Ajax in a deal which could potentially rise to £18.5m. He joined in a £13.8m deal, now leaving United in a win win situation.
Ajax had confirmed they were in talks with United over a move for the player but all is now set for him to move.
“(He is) a player with a lot of experience, in the Premier League and in the Dutch national team,” Ten Hag said.
“He is a stable personality. Just like the arrival of Dusan Tadic, this also counts as a considerable effort of the club. We are doing everything, but it also depends on other parties.” The manager of Ajax Erik ten Hag had confirmed.
Matteo Darmian is also said to be on the transfer wishlist of Juventus but United are playing the hard ball over his move. The Old Lady had proposed a loan deal with the option of making the deal permanent next season but the Red Devils want straight cash.
