Joining Manchester United last summer from Borrussia Dortmind with the pedigree of not just an experience player, Henrikh Mkhitaryan was feared by many Premier League defenders because of his quality, skill and incisive running.
He struggled to adapt to the Premier league and impose himself in the squad of the Red Devils last season. Despite starting this season on a bright note, the Armenian star is experiencing a deep in form and Jose Mourinho has revealed that the attacker was dropped from United’s last two games in order to revitalise his career, per reports.
Mkhitaryan did not feature in Man United 4 – 1 thrashing of newly promoted Premier League side Newcastle United and he was left out of the Champions League squad that lost to Basel.
The 28-year-old is yet to convince Jose Mourinho that he merits regular game time and reports according to the Mirror have claimed that the Special One dropped the Armenian in a bid to inspire him to do better.
Recently, Mkhitaryan has been spotted training on his own and one but wonders if after one season in the Premier league , he has not adapted, whether he will ever adapt again.
The question about Mkhitaryan is not quality. He may be finding it difficult to play to Mourinho’s tune.
