Tough-tackling CB reveals why he wants Arsenal move


Pierre Barremaecker, 21, has revealed his dream to play for Arsene Wenger’s team before the end of his career. The player who currently plays for Valenciennes’ Youth team believes he is in the right path to achieve his dream despite his current club, claims various report.

Pierre also told reporters about his love for Arsenal full-back Laurent Koscielny who started his career as a Ligue 2 defender before he found his way into Arsene Wenger’s squad at the age of 24. Should he follow the footsteps of his idol, he would definitely become a Gunner in no distant time.

The Frenchman also confessed that wearing the Les Blue’s jersey will be one of his greatest achievements as a player. The youngster hasn’t featured for France at any age-grade level but he believes he has the potentials to become a mainstay in the French national team.

“If I could one day wear the France shirt that would really be a magical moment in my career,” he said.

According to him, Arsenal is one of the clubs he loved watching while growing up due to the presence of several French international players who have had some spell with the club including Vieira and Henry.

“My models are Koscielny and Thiago Silva, for his leader mentality,” he told Nord-Eclair over the weekend “Other than that, I dream of playing in the Premier League and to wear Arsenal’s shirt, because when I started to watch football, Vieira, Henry and Bergkamp were there.

At 21, breaking into the Gunners first-team would require massive work and dedication from the Valenciennes player. He must also ensure he puts in consistent performance for the Ligue 2 side to break into the first-team squad which could bring him more recognition from fans and scouts who would be spying for new and talented players during the upcoming pre-season tour.
