Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintant is reportedly eyeing a possible move for Borussia Dortmund young defender Julian Weigl, as he hopes to help Wenger in his bid to build a formidable defense before the start of the 2018-19 football calendar.
Sven, who was Dortmund’s former scouting chairman, is ready to explore his relationship with the Bundesliga giants in bringing the Germany international to the Emirates stadium during this summer transfer market. According to Daily Mail, Sven could find it very difficult to lure the player to the North London club due to Dortmund’s reluctant to letting him move out of the Wesfalenstadion stadium by the summer.
Having lost Ousmane Dembele, Henrikh Mktarryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in recent transfer markets, Dortmund are ready to do everything in their capacity to avoid losing the rising star to the North London club.
Though the Frenchman was reportedly tracking some players including Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi who currently plays for the Foxes, Roman Zobnin who plays for Spartak Moscow and Thiago Maia of Lille; Julian Weigl remains Arsenal’s prime target when the summer transfer window begins in two months time. Julian Weigl, 22, will be hoping he makes Joachim Leow’s World Cup squad.
