Following Jose Mourinho’s statement that the club are not interested in landing anymore strikers, the Old Trafford might have to take a U-turn if Robert Lewandowski becomes available in the summer, this is according to report.
The Polish forward has made known his intention to leave the Bavarians after this season despite the club’s constant push for him to stay.
According to Kicker, Robert Lewandowski has already asked the board to put him on transfer list come this summer, but they have been reluctant. Nonetheless, several clubs have been trailing the Poland international’s signature as top European clubs look to supplement their teams before the start of next season.
It is believed that Real Madrid are keen to sign the forward who is also willing to move to the Spanish capital with the belief that he has more chances of winning the UEFA Champions League at the capital club than any other.
Despite Madrid’s interest, Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United have been the club leading the chase as they have shown the most interest in bringing the forward to the Old Trafford ahead of the summer transfer window.
Having had the likes of Lukaku, Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rashford, and Sanchez, it is really unclear as to the position Mourinho wants the Pole to fill. Already at United, competition for places has become stiff, Lewy will make competition even stiffer and United may have to bid goodbye to some of its made strikers.
