GFN reported earlier that Man United were on the verge of signing Brazilian sensation Fred but it is now only a matter of time before the deal is completed and confirmed as it is widely reported that an agreement is already in place for the player to seal a €50m Move to United.
Manchester United were heavily linked with the signing of the player in the January transfer window but Man City emerged as front-runners for his signature. However, City opted to sign Aymeric Laporte in place of a midfielder they wanted and left United as the only club in his chase at that time.
Fred is currently with the squad of Brazil ahead of the World Cup mundial but his displays for Shakhtar Donetsk last season is one that is very much in the memory of Man United. Fred is currently the most rated Shakhtar midfielder but he seem destined to play in the Premier League.
Sky Sports journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that United and Shakhtar have reached an agreement for the player to complete a £43.8m [€50m] move.
Fred will fight for a place in the midfield of the Red Devils with the likes of Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic but he can also play as a left back. United have been looking for a replacement for Michael Carrick and it is believed that Fred was signed for that purpose.
Nonetheless, we feature a mock up picture of the player in a Man United jersey.
