Chelsea will be kicking off their pre-season of China in a match against London rivals Arsenal on Saturday. The Blues will be hoping to start their pre-season tour on a winning note after losing to Arsenal in last season’s FA cup final.
The Champions of the Premier League are without star man Eden hazard who is still recovering from an injury he sustained while on national team duty with Belgium. Antonio Conte traveled with a chunk of youngsters for this tour and they might be called into action.
Chelsea new boy willy Caballero made the trip but Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger did not travel – Bakayoko is currently recovering from new injury while Rudiger was given an extended holiday due to his exploits for Germany in the Confederations Cup in Russia. Academy players like Charly Musonda and Andreas Christensen are expected to be in the match squad for the match against Arsenal.
For the most part of last season, Antonio Conte stuck with three players at the back, and it worked perfectly for the Blues as they ramp 30 wins. He is bound to continue with the same formation this term.
