Manchester United’s want-away midfielder Marouane Fellaini has been a source of transfer speculations since the last transfer window and the player is currently in the news once again over the uncertainty surrounding his future at the theater of dreams. The latest rumour concerning the Belgian international suggest that Liverpool are considering making a shock bid for his signature ahead of next season.
According to French media outlet L’Equipe, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is hoping to bring the 31-year-old midfielder to his team as part of his search move to bolster his team’s physicality at the middle of the pitch.
Having known that the player would be ending his contract with the team by the end of the current campaign, Manchester United boss José Mourinho offered him a one-year extension but he rejected the offer claiming he wants to move to another club where he would see more game-time compared to what he’s received so far this season.
Should he eventually move to the Anfield stadium, Fellaini will become the first United player to switch from Old Trafford to Anfield stadium, vice-versa in more than 50 years.
Turkish giants Besiktas and Fenarbache are reportedly in the the race to sign the midfielder by the end of the season as a free agent.
