Manchester City are a win away from winning clinching the Premier League title but they face a herculean tax against capital city rivals Manchester United this weekend. United are said to be at an advantage over City as Sergio Aguerro is a massive doubt for the encounter, this is according to report.
Manchester City will play Liverpool in the Champions League later tonight and the Argentina striker has been ruled out of the crunch tie with a knee injury. The 29-year-old striker has missed the last five games of Manchester City but despite Guardiola’s claim that the issue is not really serious, his continuous absence has suggested that he is a major doubt for derby game.
Aguerro has been the most prolific striker for the Citizens with 30 goals in all competitions this term and the Argentine will be sorely missed.
Guardiola was quizzed on the player’s return ahead of the derby game and he replied as thus;
“He is much, much better, but the physios and doctor spoke with him and he said he still wasn’t perfect.
“He is back in Manchester, I hope he will be back for Saturday.”
Following Manchester City’s won over Everton in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola revealed that he will feature a weakened team against Manchester United.
“Of course I want to win against United at home,” he said.
“But we have three days before we have Liverpool, afterwards we have three days before United and after we have three days before the second leg, so few recovery days.
“You have to use all the squad but that doesn’t mean the guys who play are not going to prepare to win.
