Manchester United star Anthony Martial could be on his way out of Old Trafford as Mourinho is reportedly eyeing Chelsea star Willian as his possible replacement.
The Frenchman has seen his place in the manager’s starting lineup taken by Alexis Sanchez, who joined the Old Trafford outfit from Arsenal last winter.
The 22-year-old is currently being tracked by Juventus and Arsenal as both clubs want to reinforce their attacking department ahead of next season.
However, José Mourinho is set to reignite his interest in luring Chelsea star Willian to the Theater of Dreams. The Brazilian was made to sit on the substitute bench for most of the just concluded season. Nonetheless, he was able to regain his spot in Conte’s starting lineup in the latter part of the season.
Despite Mourinho’s initial plan not to buy another forward in the summer, the Portuguese tactician is vying for the 29-year-old winger, according to ESPN.
The Blues are reportedly aiming to keep the Brazilian player beyond this season as he is one of the integral players in Antonio Conte’s squad.
Having failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League competition, it might be difficult for Roman Abramovich to get a world-class player in the summer. Therefore, he is desperately keen to prevent Willian’s move to Old Trafford.
Willian is valued at 32,00 Mill. € according to transfermarkt.
