The England international is desperately seeking a move to one of Premier League’s top clubs so as to appear in next year’s Champions League competition, this is according to Bleacher Reports.
Butland has been in superb form this season keeping four clean sheets despite Stoke’s poor defensive record. It is believed that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to add a player to his goalkeeping department before the start of next season, and Butland has emerged as the manager’s main target, per Bleacher Report .
Simon Mignolet who is the Reds’ first choice goalkeeper has been less than inspiring while in goal for Liverpool this season. Klopp was furious with the Belgian goalkeeper after seeing Xhaka’s shot pushed into the net by Mignolet during Liverpool’s match against Arsenal in a game that ended 3-3.
This has made Klopp believed there is a need for to purchase a better goalkeeper who would replace Mignolet anytime he deems.
Stoke City might be unable to keep Butland beyond the end of the season due to the player’s love to play for a top Premier League club.
