Coming on as a substitute for Jamie Vardy in the dying minutes of Leicester City’s home win against Sunderland in the 2015/2016 Premier League season, Ngolo kante made his debut at the King Power Stadium for the Foxes. The midfield destroyer imposed himself not just for his team, but subsequently became a force in the English League.
Following his stellar show-off for Leicester City that culminated into a Premier League title, kante earned so much plaudits for his consistency in the middle of the pack. He ended the season as the best central midfielder in England with 175 tackles and 157 interceptions. He became a transfer subject of many top European teams but Chelsea won the race for his signature in a £32 million deal last summer.
The diminutive midfielder has not taken his foot off the gear since moving to Stamford Bridge. He’s been adjudged as the best central midfielder in the world by pundits and Arsenal’s skipper Laurent Koscielny has joined his singing the praises of the 25-year-old. The stars pair joined up to represent France and they will be taking on Luxembourg on Saturday, per report.
Koscielny reckons that Kante is the best midfielder in the EPL.
“For me he is the best player of the championship,” Koscielny said at a news conference.
“He had the aptitude to adapt in his new club, he had a difficult first month but since the loss to Arsenal, he has progressed enormously.
“When you have a player like that in midfield, who gets a lot of balls back…
“He knows what he can and cannot do.
“He harasses his opponents and gives the ball to his offensive players.”
Kante has been pivotal to Chelsea’s form this season. He’s started in 27 Premier League games for the Blues, winning 45% of his duel, he’s also won four of his defensive action on the average per game and has had an 88% passing accuracy.
