Henrikh Mkitaryan personally delivers injury update

Talking about the best signing of the summer for United, Manchester United may be without Henrikh Mjhitaryan when the Red Devils file out against the Saints in EFL Cup final at Wembley .

The Armenian international sustained an injury in the Red Devils Europa League game against Saint-Etienne last night and he has revealed that he may not be fit for United’s EFL final Cup game against Southampton in Wembley this Sunday.

It was Mkhitaryan’s only goal that sealed a place for United in the last 16 of the Europa League. United won the French outfit 4-0 on aggregate and Mhkitaryan took to social media to reveal how he feels after the game.

“Back in the country where I spent my childhood,” he tweeted

“So happy to have scored, but sad to have left the pitch that early.

“Fingers crossed.”

Should Mhkitaryan be unfit for the game against Southampton, Jose Mourinho has a plethora of options in the same position as Mhkitaryan plays – Rooney, Mata or Rashford could all play in the same position but the Armenia will be unhappy to miss his first opportunity to play in a final for United.

Mhkitaryan was on song for  the Red Devils as they thumped Saint-Etienne 1-0 in their European Cup game.

Mhkitaryan has struggled to adapt to the life and rigors of the Premier League but he is gradually finding his footing as Mourinho is beginning to hand him opportunities.
