Premier League top clubs are set for a crunch battle for Leipzig striker Timo Werner who has been phenomenal for the Bundesliga side having scored 16 goals so far this season, according to reports.
According to the Sun newspaper, Werner has refused to renew his contract at RB Leipzig, which means he could move out of the Bundesliga club as a free agent in the summer.
Chelsea are reportedly chasing after the youngster despite the acquisition of Olivier Giroud from Arsenal in the winter.
Though Manchester United boss José Mourinho has declared he won’t sign any attack-minded player in the summer, the Sun suggests that United’s hierarchy want the player at Old Trafford due to the financial benefits they stand to achieve should he switch to the 20-time Premier League Champions.
Arsenal were also speculated to be monitoring the 24-year-old striker, but it’s yet to be seen if Arsene Wenger would love to add the player to his squad considering the quality of his team’s attacking threat.
Chelsea are tipped as the next destination for the striker because they are in good position to offer him much playing-time unlike their rivals who have many center forwards to lead their attacking departments.
