The deadline day is now heavily upon us and the news are fluttering in like never before and you don’t expect Chelsea to be left out in the party.
According to breaking reports by Skysports, Chelsea have reached an agreement with Italian Seria side Torino for the signature of right back Davide Zappacosta.
Antonio Conte has been on the lookout for a player that would give competition in the right wing position to Victor Moses. The Blues were heavily linked with a move for former Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but the 23-year-old star favoured a move to Merseyside club Liverpool.
Zappacosta joined Torino in the summer of 2015 from Atalanta and he has been a key squad member for the Turin outfit. He has garnered 52 appearance for the Seria Side since his debut in 2015 and Conte believes he’ll be a perfect fit for his team.
Chelsea were also linked with a move for Antonio Candreva and Serge Aurier but all of our advances towards the aforementioned players have been futile.
Conte played with a very thin squad last season but the dual demand of the Champions and Premier League means he has to have at least two players in every position. Marcos Alonso is the only left wing back at the moment but Azpilicueta could also be utilised in the same position.
