Real Madrid are in desperate need of players who can help overturn their inconsistency in the La Liga.
According to Sky Sports, the Spanish club’s President Florentino Perez, last week, declared his readiness to support coach Zinedine Zidane’s plans to reinforce his squad in January irrespective of the cost. Los Blancos are ready to spend huge amount in the January transfer window.
The news breaking out from Real Madrid suggests that the French manager is targeting Liverpool midfielder Emre Can to bolster his midfield. Can, whose contract with the Anfield club expires at the end of the season, might join Real Madrid in January according to Corriere Dello Sport.
The German midfielder has refused to sign a new contract with the Premier League Giants, increasing speculations over his future at Anfield. Real Madrid will compete against Juventus for the player’s signature.
Can joined the Merseyside club from Bayern Leverkusen on the 5th of June 2014, for £9.75 million. He has featured in 100 games for Liverpool since he joined them.
As per same report, the sale of Can is likely going to happen in January as Naby Keita who plays for RB Leipzig in Germany will be added to the Liverpool squad in the summer.
The transfer of the Germany international may cost Real Madrid around £25 million since Can has less than a year to run on his current contract and that could have a rather desperate Liverpool stamp his exit in January.
