Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was in fine form in the opening game of the 2017/2018 English Premier League season, and it appears he is playing for his future as against the claim by the English media that his performance were in a bid to secure a new contract at Arsenal.

According to a new report by English sources, it is now said that Chelsea are become increasingly confident of signing Oxlade-Chamberlain. Further report has it that they are optimistic that a bid in the region of £35 million(€38 million)would convince their capital neighbours to part ways with their star.

Chelsea recently sold Nemanja Matic to Manchester United are set to lose Diego Costa as well. However, they are hoping to secure a move for Chamberlain who has been on Liverpool’s radar for a while now.

The last time Arsenal and Chelsea shock hands over a deal was in the summer of 2015, when Petr Cech completed a £10 million switch to the Emirate stadium. But with his latest development, Arsenal could yet make double profit from their £15 million signing from Southampton back in 2011.

Chamberlain has reportedly rejected a new deal table for him, which is believed to be worth £125k-a-week and this places Arsenal in a precarious situation since the player’s current contract expires in the summer of 2018.

Arsene Wenger reiterated his desire to keep the star at the club but the fans have to keep an open mind as per this deal.

Liverpool are also interested in signing Chamberlain and they are likely to enter a bidding war with Liverpool for the player’s signature.

What do you think, should Arsenal keep him or sell to Chelsea?
