Antonio Conte is poised to go one better than he did last season and he is aware that he must bolster his squad for the Blues to remain competitive.
According to Brazilian media outlet Globe Esporte, Brazil international and Real Madrid right back Danilo has agreed personal terms to switch the Santiago Bernabeu for Stamford Bridge.
Danilo is second to Dani Carvajal in the selection pecking order of Zinedine Zidane and he wants out of the Club so as to play regularly. If he doesn’t play regularly this season, he may not fulfill his dream of playing for the Samba Boys in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
A fee between Chelsea and Madrid is yet to be agreed but talks have advanced as Conte looks to add to his backline. James Rudiger joined from Roma, he will fight for his place at the heart of defense while Danilo is expected to give Victor Moses a run for his money on the right side of defense.
Danilo is valued at £35m as GFN understand. His wealth of experience and trophy laden career means he will be fantastic buy for the Blues. Chelsea have spent over £75million on Antoinio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko but given the inflated nature of the transfer window, Conte has been able to get those players for good prices.
With Diego Costa of the verge of leaving Chelsea, Conte has placed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alvaro Morata as his prime target for attack.
