Roberto Firmino hasn’t discussed a contract extension with Liverpool, but the player has hinted that he will remain with the Merseyside club “for years to come.” The Brazilian joined Liverpool from Hoffenheim for £29 million in the summer of 2015 during Brendan Rodgers’ reign.
His first season at the Anfield was one to forget as he didn’t live up to his billings. Having sacked Rodgers in 2015-16 campaign, Liverpool signed Jurgen Klopp who helped the 26-year-old Brazilian recover his form. The German manager has shown huge faith in Firmino since his first match as Liverpool manager.
While speaking about his experience with the Reds, it has been a great experience for him playing with a huge club like Liverpool. He revealed that he is happy at the Merseyside club, and he sees no reason to change club anytime Soon.
According to him, he always puts in hard work in training and in matches in order not to disappoint the managers and the fans who believe in his qualities.
Firmino still has a contract with the Red until 2022, but he would like to extend the contract when there is need for that. The player who has scored 19 goals this season will hope to add to his tally when they battle Southampton on Sunday.
