With the transfer window coming to a close this week, we expect massive movement of players as clubs seek to balance all aspects of their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
Real Madrid have continued in their blistering form this season but they have not been heavily involved in the signing of players this season. Los Blancos have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but reports have indicated that world footballer of the year Cristiano Ronaldo has asked the hierarchy of the La Decima holders not to sanction a deal for the aforementioned players.
Zidane has been a huge admirer of Eden Hazard from season’s past and the Belgian has been heavily linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. He was linked earlier this summer but Ronaldo reckons that his signing will truncate the development of Asensio and that he would not fit into the tactical set up of the team.
According to Don Balon, Ibrahimovic, who has just signed a new contract with Man United, was offered to Madrid by his super agent Mino Raiola. Real Madrid had sold Alvaro Morata to Chelsea and Ibra was offered as his replacement according to the report.
Ibrahimovic has a big personality and Ronaldo feels he presence might sow discord in the dressing room.
Ronaldo was reportedly unhappy before the opening of the transfer window and he was linked with a move away from the club but Zidane has stated that the Portuguese winger is staying put at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He said: “Cristiano’s here and he is not going to move from here. It’s his club, his team and his city.”
