Chelsea are once again set to lose one of their bright youngsters in the summer, according to ESPN who are reporting that Liverpool are on the verge of snatching their young midfielder Isaac Christie-Davies as a free agent in the summer.
The 20-year-old is in the last month of his contract with the Blues and Chelsea are unwilling to extend his stay at the Stamford Bridge.
It was earlier reported that Christie-Davies was offered a trial by the Merseyside club in which he performed brilliantly. As a result, they are set to swiftly move for his signature ahead of other suitors.
Having signed England youngster Dominic Solanke from Stamford Bridge last summer, Christie-Davies will become the second player to switch to the Reds academy from Chelsea, should he eventually sign with Jurgen Klopp’s side.
ESPN also report that the youngster won’t be integrated into the club’s first-team due to intense competition for place in the middle of the pitch. He is likely to continue his development with the Reds youth set-up in the 2018-19 season.
During his stay at Chelsea, the youngster won two FA Youth Cups and one UEFA Youth Champions League trophy.
Since he is no longer tied to the Stamford Bridge outfit, Christie-Davies could be officially confirmed as Liverpool player before the end of the week.
Considering his talent and exploits for the young Chelsea side, it will take the lively midfielder little time to establish himself as regular starter in the Reds youth squad, which will enhance his chances of being promoted to the main squad.
