Chelsea are once again set to snatch another player from Wenger’s guide as they are reportedly showing interest in Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
The Blues successfully captured France international Olivier Giroud from the Emirates Stadium last winter and they are hoping to lure Aaron Ramsey to the Stamford Bridge ahead of next season.
The midfielder has refused to extend his contract with the North London club despite being offered a new contract by the club’s hierarchy. The 27-year-old still has a contract that will expire next season, and the Gunners are hoping to tie him to the club for more seasons.
While reacting to Arsenal’s contract offer, Ramsey revealed to TB Sports that there are no contract negotiations at the moment. He further told the media outlet that Arsene Wenger is currently concerned about qualifying for next season’s Champions League competition by lifting the Europa League trophy.
Having failed in their bid to defend their EPL title this season, the Blues are believed to overhaul their squad ahead of next season, and they hope to bring Aaron Ramsey to the middle of the park.
If the report from TB Sports is anything to go by, Arsenal will be on the verge of losing another experienced midfielder in the summer as England international Jack Wilshere is reportedly set to leave due to a contract saga and now Aaron Ramsey could reunite with Olivier Giroud and Cesc Fabregas at the Cobham training ground.
While speaking to reporters on the rumours linking the Welshman to the Blues, former Chelsea and Manchester City player Frank Lampard has advised Wenger to ensure he prevents Ramsey’s move to the current Premier League holders.
