Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Eden Hazard. The Real Madrid target is the latest player catching the attention of the citizens’ manager Pep Guardiola.
According to Goal, the manager who has already signed Athletic Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte is also on the verge of bringing the Belgian playmaker to the Etihad Stadium in the summer should he fail to join Real Madrid.
The Spaniard revealed to newsmen after his team’s 2-0 triumph over Cardiff City in the FA Cup fourth-round fixture on Sunday that the team won’t spend a whopping sum of £100million on a single player in the ongoing transfer market instead they will spend it to strengthen several positions.
Pep Guardiola didn’t rule out the possibility of getting a player for that huge price in the near future as he believes his club is financially buoyant to make it happen.
The City boss has also made a move for Westbrom’s captain Jonny Evans since the start of the transfer window as he hopes to bolster his defense, but the Baggies are yet to negotiate with the Premier League runaway Leaders.
According to the Baggies boss Alan Pardew on Friday, Evans might remain with the Premier League strugglers due to his recent hamstring injury.
With yesterday’s victory over Cardiff, Manchester City remain on course for four trophies at the end of the season. They are in the Carabao Cup final; Champions League round-of-16; FA Cup fifth-round, and they are at the top of Premier League standings with 11 points separating them from their neighbours and local rivals Manchester United who are in second position.
