Chelsea record signing decides on quitting club, wants La Liga move

Despite spending heavily in the transfer window, Chelsea have been unable to compete with their capital rivals in the League this season and the lack of a potent striker has been blamed for their bad season.

Spain international and Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata is reported ruing his decision to join the Blues and he wants to return to the Santiago Bernabeu next season, this is according to report.

Morata has received tongue-lashes from some sections of Chelsea’s fan base and many are divided over his continuous stay at the club. Morata has managed to find the back of the net 11 times in 25 Premier League appearances and it is said to be a poor return given the enormous amount spent to sign him.

Before his move to Chelsea, Morata was made to play second fiddle to Karim Benzema in the Santiago Bernabeu but COS have reported via Don Balon that the Spaniard wants to call time on his spell with Chelsea and return to Madrid, even if it means playing from the bench again.

Antonio Conte expelled Diego Costa to sign Morata but the 25-year-old forward has found himself struggling with life at Stamford Bridge. The Blues signed on Olivier Giroud from Arsenal and the French forward has been a huge competition for Morata.

Meanwhile, Karim Benzema has been linked with a move away  from Real Madrid next summer and if that happens, it will pave way for Morata to return to his old club.
