Arsenal are in pole position to sign Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea managerial target Carlo Ancelotti, as the Italian tactician is keen on returning to the Premier League, according to reports.
Unai Emery has been tipped to be replaced at the end of the season but despite heavy interest in Ancelotti, he has made it clear that he will not go back to Parc des Princes with Paris Saint Germain.
Ancelotti has had an enviable managerial career around Europe but ever since his spell with Bayern Munich came to an unprecedented end, he has been jobless but keen on a Premier League return, with Arsenal thought to be his most probably next footballing destination, according to the Mirror.
The Gunners brass know that it is now a matter of when Arsene Wenger will relinquish the helms of the club but they do not want to replace the French tactician with another old manager, according to the report.
Ancelotti has mostly inherited world class teams but he has failed to justify his position given the quality of teams he’s had and so, many Arsenal fans may not be exactly happy with the report. However , many pundits and fans just want the post-Wenger era to begin at Arsenal.
Chelsea are also linked with a move for Ancelotti but they have reportedly made the signing of former Barcelona man a top priority.
The Gunners are yet to win the Champions League but Ancelotti has, as a manager, won the envious trophy three times and CV is a big lure for Arsenal.
