Arsenal have shown their interest in signing Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric as Real Madrid are reportedly ready to cash in on the Croatian midfield maestro in the summer transfer window.
According to reports emanating from Spain via TeamTalk, the Galacticos are hoping they could sell him in a deal worth £35m and the Gunners seem to be the next destination for the experience player.
Modric 32, has been one of the most consistent players in Zinedine Zidane’s team this season but he might be allowed to leave Santiago Bernabeu by the end of the season as the French manager hopes to overhaul his squad ahead of next season after poor performances throughout the campaign.
The former Tottenham player joined Madrid in 2012, it took him little time to establish himself as an integral part of the team during Rafael Benitez reign as Madrid boss. He has since won many trophies with the team including the back-to-back UEFA Champions League glory in 2015-16 and 2016-17 season.
Despite not certain of his future at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger is monitoring the player and he is hoping he successfully lure him to the Emirates stadium ahead of the upcoming season.
Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey are likely to leave the North London club by the end of the season after both players refused to extend their stay at the club. Therefore, Wenger is doing all he could to make sure the Croatian ends up being a Gunner after the summer World Cup in Russia.
