Arsenal to agree swap deal with club for Man City target, plus £30million to be added

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is desperate in his bid to sign Jonny Evans from West Brom before the end of the season, and he is ready to get him at whatever cost. The Frenchman is ready to offer one of his fringe players Mathieu Debuchy plus £30million in order to convince Alan Pardew to release the player.

According to the Daily Star, the French manager is hoping to sign the player after seeing his last summer bid turned down by the Baggies. Westbrom are keen on keeping the experienced defender whom they believe will help them in their fight against relegation in the second half of the season.

Despite his offer, Arsene Wenger still believes his side could miss out on Evans’ signature to Manchester City who are also interested in signing the former United player.

Wenger told reporters last week that his club will definitely come out worst against the Citizens if it comes to financial offer for the player. The Frenchman admits that City are a free-spending team who can financially double Arsenal’s offer for the 29-year-old Northern Ireland international.

The Gunners defence has been shaky so far this season. They have conceded 28 goals in 22 League matches. They need a strong defender, and they need it fast.
