Arsenal have reportedly receive a massive boost to sign their transfer target Nabi Fekir, after the agent of the star refused to rule out a move for his client in the summer, according to reports.
Fekir emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal after it became certain that Alexis Sanchez would jump ship to another club. Despite adding attackers in the form of Herikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Gunners squad, Arsenal are willing to pay £45m for the services of Fekir.
Fekir can directly replace Alexis Sanchez as he can play on the flank or even behind the striker and Wenger wants a deal completed for the star before the World Cup in Russia. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net 16 times in Ligue One and his ability to also create goals in a heavy lure for Arsene Wenger.
According to Jean Pierre Bernes, who is the agent of the star, Fekir is unlikely going to stay put with Monaco next season.
“Will Fekir still be at OL next season? It’s too early to talk about it,” he told Telefoot.
“We have time, that’s the straight line. There are important goals and he is already in a big club.
“After considering my relationship with [OL president] Jean-Michel Aulas, we will make the best decision.”
Arsenal have had a forgettable season this term and they are keen on signing reinforcement. However, the priority for the Gunners is not in the attack, there is a dearth or lack of defensive midfielders or Centre-backs at the Club and they are bound to strengthen those areas first.
